NO Fun in Colorado (for Meredith)

Left Omaha, Nebraska at 3:30 am this morning. Shell and I both got up to go to the bathroom and decided that we should just get on the road so we could arrive in Co as early as possible. The first few hours were pitch black skies with lightening and thunder/rain. A bit of a white knuckle ride but it was fine. Colorado is less corn fields and more grass-lands. Super beautiful.
Arrived in Greeley, Co around 11am. Just enough time to meet up with the Big sis and her family including one of the twin freshman. Ate lunch at Chipotle (yes I was in heaven) and sent Brittany off to volleyball practice. Big difference between middle school VB and college VB. These girls are hard core. They don't give up-EVER They skirmished for 2 hours straight with no break. I was tired just watching.
Shell tried to paint her toenails in my car. She flopped her foot up onto my dash and broke out her dark purple polish pen and began painting. Karma got a hold of her as she dripped it on both of her feet. NOT pretty.
Here is where we will NOT admit to having any fun, as Meredith (the other twin, a freshman at Gonzaga, Wa) was having a bad day and called in tears. I think she was just missing special time with her favorite Aunt Stephanie. I promised we wouldn't have any fun without her. She was i bit lonely today.
After Britt's practice we went back to the hotel and Skyped with Meredith. It was so sweet to see Stacy and Tony chatting with her and then to see Britt talking to Mere about her week. I know they really miss each other but thank God for FB and Web chats.
Finished off our day at a local Pizza place and am now ready for bed at 8pm. I believe I'll be signing up for my AARP card as I really enjoy the "early bird specials" and a 3:oo am wake up time.
Off to Get Brittany moved into her dorm in the morning and then we hit the road to Santa Fe,NM. More adventures to come!!

Where to begin? First of all let me say, your necks look very good! Not sure about the chins. What chins? We come from a long line of chin-less people. Next, if either of you drive off the road and die, (God forbid!,) i will personally come to heaven and beat both of your round little ghost fannies black and blue!!! Drive carefully please! I am caring for your children but don't want to do it forever. I AM a member of AARP! I have clout! I am also a member of the ACLU, The Free Tibet Society, The Sierra Club, and Amnesty International! I have a lot of clout!!! Oh,and I am your Mother!! Be careful! Love, love love, the blog!! And the two of you!! xoxo
